Parking at UIUC can be a bit challenging! Students can purchase permits or use the meters to pay for parking. Permit information can be found on the parking website. If you plan to use meters, keep in mind that they are often "in demand" and you might not find one when and where you need it. You also will need to use a mobile app to pay for the meter. See the parking website for more information on meters.
Parking in the lot next to the Education Building is open to people without permits after 5pm. In the fall, when the time changes, that lot is made available starting at 4pm. Make sure to read the parking emails so you know when these changes happen! See the parking website for more information.
If you get a parking citation, don't be afraid to appeal! Rumor has it that you get one guaranteed appeal each semester. Make sure to appeal quickly. See the parking website for more information. If your appeal is not granted, pay the citation quickly to avoid late fees.
